Hi Dr Gregson, I am watching CTV News about unknown causes of death. No. 1 reason is inattentive General Practitioners. I am a retired RN and what has evolved in Drs offices is appalling. Drs no longer listen, have no idea what, why, when concerning individual pts. There is no follow-up. I have to go to Walk-in once a mth for UTIs even though i have a family Dr. AND, Ì just found out the Walk-in I go to does not send in my midstream urines so…there is a record of prescriptions but not record of midstream results. I have a specualist in Lethbridge who is so frustrated with Medicine Hat. Physician QOC is so lavking that we are dropping like flies. I have asked to be referred to to cardiac specialist. I was referred to one, near retirement, in Lethbridge who was more interested in having his hands in my groin. When he retired i asked again for a new specialist. I was given a traveling specialist who travels all over the world. I again asked for one in the Hat. To date, no app’t is apparent…almost 12 mths. Drs are very impatient, want us out of their office asap. I have governed my own health as best I can. I have had 13 drs since 2017, all very incompetant….2 drs charged with sexual assault, several drs at ACT clinic that take regular pts were MIA, unavailable, referred to phone app’ts in Calgary where I spoke with one Dr but refill medication prescriptions had another Dr’s name on it. One Dr from Kenya was here for close to 5 yrs but just couldn’t get my meds straight even though i brought my empty med containers in for her reference. My last Dr before this present Dr had a Scottish accent, poor hygiene, burping during initial vidit and I was told by him he was only given uncomplicated pts for safety reasons. B-bye Dr. This present Dr is a transplant from SK, way too busy with ER, very difficult to get an app’t, has fallen for his borrowed clinic nurse…or so it appears.
Nope, poor doctoring at the basic level. If you want to clean things up, clean up the clinics that are poorly run, poor drs more interested in time off and money, staff/drs don’t even dress professionally anymore, no follow-up equals poor outcomes for the pte. There is so much more.
