I was fortunate to have an opportunity presented to me last week. As many of you know, I have been existing with a bad hip for some time. Over the last year it became worse a lot faster than I expected. I was scheduled to have surgery in early 2022, before Covid, and when the pandemic hit, it looked like I was going to wait a long time. I began to seriously pursue alternative treatments a couple of months ago. My surgeon was contacted, and confirmed a number of weeks later that delays were likely and that they had no alternative therapies.
Within the space of 3 days of getting that answer, I get a phone call offering me an opportunity to have my hip done in LESS than a week!!!
I went in yesterday morning and came home in time for dinner with a new hip.
Today I walked 1.4 km with Karen. I’m sore as hell but feeling great at the same time!
My main reason for posting this is give a HUGE shout out and thank you to the staff at Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket. From the moment I walked in the door at 6 am to when the staff wheeled me out to the car, the management was flawless. Above all, the staff was friendly and cheerful throughout the whole process. You guys could not have made the experience any better!
Of course, the biggest thanks to Doctor Walmsley, for choosing me as a candidate when he was offered an opportunity by the hospital to do what he does best. He and his staff were great from the first phone call to the last conversation I had with him. Thanks, Doc!!

RUDE, CONDESCENDING, ALOOF. Not interested in my well being at all. My right thigh is partially numb, one and one half years post hip surgery. Complaining about it is redundant, he’ll fluff it off because 1) he’s thinks I’m less than human 2) I waited too long seek help. It’s my fault regardless of the FACT I was misdiagnosed by three GPs over ten years prior!!!! Ivory tower attitude before COVID, worse after the outbreak, really bad during. Here’s what he uttered after follow up visit, “Thank god I don’t have to see you again!” Ditto, Dr. David Wonky, ditto. Up yours – ignorant moron!

I will be a new patient of Dr, Walmsley and will require knee surgery soon I know my present scheduled visit is not until the end of June, too much pain To wait for that date so I recently put my name into his office to fill in if they have a cancellation. I have only have heard good things about this doctor and I am sure they are true, Some unfortunately do not see the light at the end of the tunnel and complain even when things go right to them I feel sorry, but I am looking forward to my surgery and relief of pain, Hope to hear from you soon

I had fallen 7 months ago and severely damaged my elbow to the point that the bone protruding from the skin with fluid constantly leaking from the injury. Dr, Walmsley identified the problem, bone damage that created a sharp spur that cut the tissue. He scheduled the surgery immediately, operated on the elbow and repaired the damage. While I am still in a cast I am not having any pain, which I have been dealing with since the accident. Dr. Walmsley has a great demeaner and instilled the confidence I needed to to feel that the operation was the solution. I have to say that the staff at the hospital were terrific, from admissions to the attending nurses and assistance. Best I have ever experienced in a hospital.
