• 3 February 2024A doctor of any focus, no matter the specialty is there to treat the patients with respect and dignity. They are not there to belittle, berate and re-educate. Unfortunately compassion is something not learned in a text book. Dr. Schaafsma really disappointed me with her approach and inability to explain what and how a TIA is diagnosed. Why tell patient that “said” testing helps identify if a TIA/minor stroke occurrence, and then post testing when results come back clear with no remarks – explain to patient that “said” testing is not reliable or accurate in diagnosis of TIA/minor stroke. What is the point of testing then, if everything is based on a possibility? Creating patient fear based on a possibility is not medical treatment. Please follow better standards of practice.
