One review of “Dr Judson Barkhurst”

    27 December 2023

I was seen by Dr. Barkhurst in December 2023. He is by far the worst medical professional I have ever encountered. He examined me without consulting my blood work annd took ZERO medical history from me. When I enquired about the blood work results he shrugged and said he hadn’t looked at it. He then proceeded to send me for a variety of tests with no updates as to what he was testing for or why. Following that he proceeded to discharge me while I was still in acute abdominal pain with no suggestions except “see your GP” and a long speech about how his only role was to make sure he has ruled out major life threatening items. When I enquired on my test results he said in a highly condescending fashion “they were NORMAL” his tone was as though I was deaf or stupid. I left the ER and headed directly to my GPs office who looked at tests and said results aren’t normal at all. She diagnosed me with esophageal spasm following a recent endoscopy. Dr, Barkhurst would have know that if he had even looked at my file. Additionally, the man’s overall demeanour to all I observed him with was terrible. He also yelled at the woman seated next to me (remember you are in one room with 16 other patients – there is ZERO privacy). I felt fully gaslighted by this person at a time when I was in severe pain and needed help. I think he should be investigated and performance reviewed – if this is the acceptable standard of care we should be very concerned for the state of Health Care in Alberta.
