I had come to see Dr. Moore for rectal pain. I had gone to a Clinic in Thornhill, regarding some haemorrhoids that they had sneered. I was originally seeing a doctor out of Southlake, because I’ve always had problems with haemorrhoids and rectal issues I moved out of the area and wanted a closer doctor. After the clinic, I had some rawness and I wasn’t healing properly. I decided to see a specialist and re-search Dr. Moore. I had waited over a month to get an appointment with her through the ER out of McKenzie health. Once I had my appointment with Dr. Moore, she concluded I had a fissure. She’s gave me two options one surgery and two Botox. She suggested the surgery as it was a higher healing rate (95%), and less reoccurrence. I opted for the surgery and she booked me in about 10 days later. I had done the surgery and was feeling much better for about 3 weeks. She gave me some prescriptions for ointment painkillers, and to take some restore lax to soften my stool and help keep my stool soft for bowel movements as my fissure heals. My Fissure was healing, as for what I believe. After the three weeks, the pain returned, and I was in and out of the ER at Mackenzie Health with no help. Doctors upon doctors at one point I was willing to stay overnight to see Dr. Moore as she was on call the next morning. She came to see me and was puzzled so we went backwards, and she decided to do Botox, which was an out-of-pocket expense and I was OK with that. (The Botox would relax the sphincter muscle to help bring blood flow to heal. The fissure) the Botox was administered, I was still feeling a lot of pain. I couldn’t sit or walk and every time I had a bowel movement I was in so much pain and the pain would linger for hours later after. My whole quality of life went to nothing and I was beside myself. I had went to emerge at Mackenzie Health with such severe pain to the point I couldn’t even walk. The doctor on call said I was not an emergency but just looking for some relief, and he also issued me pain killers. He had called dr. Moore’s office and told me that Dr. Moore was kind enough to see me. I made an appointment before leaving hospital at her office for that Friday and went. She was puzzled and unsure of what the issue was. Again more ointment, Tylenol, ibuprofen painkillers, but she didn’t look beyond that. I then decided to see another: rectal doctor through another hospital. I had waited for an appointment for about 2 1/2 weeks. I went to see this doctor and he had decided to look inside and see what the issue was. He said it could be a blood clot, an infection, he didn’t know and from the rectal exam he couldn’t touch me so the OR was the next step. At this point, I was so grateful because I was in so much pain and not getting any help. I saw him on Thursday. He booked me into the OR the next day. He then did a fistulotomy. I had developed an infection at some point between the clinic, the fisher surgery, and trying to heal myself. I am so grateful that I took it upon myself to help myself and get some relief because I wasn’t getting any help from any doctors. At one point Dr. Moore decided to call my GP, and wonder if I had any mental health issues. She was so sure that she did what was right and I believe she did. However, she didn’t take it upon herself to think that maybe after the surgery there could have been so much trauma to the anal area that I developed an infection. This never was brought to her attention nor did she think that this could happen. A good doctor would look at all the possibilities. After so many times returning to her in pain she never bothered to bring me back to the OR and look to see what the actual problem could be or she didn’t know. Something she thought that was so simple is not healing but never went outside the box. My advice to anybody who is going through any kind of rectal pain, which may include hemorrhoids, thrombosed hemorrhoid, fishers fistula even a bowel obstruction. Do your research find who can help you as best they can. Dr. Moore didn’t help me, she didn’t know what was wrong. Any doctor would wonder and see for themselves what the issue was and go back into the OR to see if and why I was in so much pain. She didn’t. She blamed it on mental health issues and that to me is a cop out. Disgusting!
