• 17 August 2021Unfortunately this Doctor is incompetent and incapable of taking care of patients. She doesn’t let patients speak and dismisses them. You need to contact the office minimum of 4 times to get your requests sent to the pharmacy and her direct response is “that’s unfortunate we will just keep pushing your appointment”
Her level of knowledge is frightening, have seen a different Doctor who blew this women out of the water with knowledge and care
I strongly recommend waiting and being referred to another specialist as you will be disappointed and mistreated

• 8 November 2021Didn’t even actually get to speak with the doctor, I take done by someone else. My concerns were dismissed and ultimately told to “just loose weight” no further investigations were to be considered and was told that I could not be helped by this doctor. Very discouraging that a doctor that should be educated in metabolism does not offer further support.

• 18 September 2023It took about 10 months for the referral to her clinic to be accepted, despite already having an endocrine disorder (I was referred because I moved cities). I was referred to a different doctor and was switched to Cathy Sun instead (nobody informed me of the change). The clinic had two nurses who saw me one after the other, and repeated the exact same questionnaire both times. As if the answers were never logged in the system. Dr. Sun finally came in, spent about 2 minutes with me and half-assed a requisition for for future bloodwork. Told me to come back in three months and to do bloodwork before the phone appointment. I noticed the unfilled for and questioned it, she said just fill it in myself, she left it blank on purpose so she wouldn’t have to fill out any more in the future and just to photo copy it. When I went to Dynacare, I was informed they can’t take photocopies, the signature was never dated, and not even my name was on the form. “You could have just sold this to anyone on the internet!”.
At my follow up, I was told I was dismissed as a patient because my bloodwork is normal and I don’t have any condition. I told her my previous doctors all said my auto-immune condition was for life, currently in remission but could come back at any time. She backtracked and said that might be but since I’m fine right now she doesn’t have time to follow up with people who “have nothing wrong with them”. SHe insisted that nobody from her clinic would keep me as a patient and to contact my family doctor if anything comes up. I informed her that due to the doctor crisis, my family doctor is 5 hours drive away and if my condition comes out of remission, I would need to wait another year for an endocrinologist in addition to the difficulty in travelling to see my doctor to start the whole diagnosis process from the start. She then backtracked again and said that I am still her patient for two years so I wouldn’t have to wait as long next time. This was all discussed within about 2 minutes, very rushed and lacking any empathy.
My last endo in London ON was incredible, and it really makes the lack of care and dismissiveness of Dr. Sun very apparent. We are in a doctor crisis in Ontario, it would be nice if the few that are available actually did their jobs.
