• 27 September 2020Was heavily criticized by Dr Schwalm for going off my medications of my own volition…while he was performing MMI surgery on me. Not only was he incorrect in his assumption that I was off my meds of my own accord but he did so while I was at my most vulnerable and totally at his mercy. Recently my pharmacy called him to get my medications renewed and he passed it off to my family physician instead. During a global pandemic. When trying to get in to see your family doctor (or a follow up cardiologist appointment) can be a lengthy wait. Certainly not what I expected from a surgeon willing to tear a strip out of someone for not taking their medications while they’re laying on his operating table. And here I thought our first meeting showed his lack of class. Is he good as a surgeon? I am still alive today so I can’t criticize that aspect of his care. I can say that should I ever be in the ER for another heart attack I hope that he is not the surgeon.
