He is a thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable and skilled surgeon with the ability to put his patients at ease with his thorough explanations and caring manner. We are very lucky to have him here.     Dr. Merg explains the process thoroughly and in easily understood terms. He is very conscious of the patient’s comfort. I have had to have 2 surgeries with him and have a high respect of him. I am glad I was assigned to him for my needs.

    Even with the long ambulance drive, I am glad i ended up in Trail in DrMergs care. DrMerg and all his staff were excellent – very professional,thorough and caring. His post surgery phone calls to check on me were greatly appreciated.

    I met Dr. Merg when I had a Mesenteric clot (not sure of the full term). His manner was such that I did not worry and I appreciated how professional and caring he was. When I first met him, he had on a white lab coat…something I had not seen in years. It still brings a smile to my face as he has a great sense of humor as well.
