The fact that there are any positive reviews of Dr. Doiron and his staff is laughable. I have never been treated so horribly by a human, let alone a Doctor and their clinic staff. I was a patient for over 20 years at this clinic before my previous doctor retired and he took over. Sadly I have had to leave, in the middle of a literal doctor crisis and shortage as my mental health is more important than staying and having such terrible treatment. I do not use these words lightly and I caution anyone who goes to him as a doctor.
I will also say that I TRIED to get along with him. I contacted a mediator through the Ontario College of Physicians and was advise to write him a letter and send it through the mail as it was the only way I could communicate with him. I did this, I was not mean in this letter, I explained what my experiences with his staff were and also took responsibility for one particular call that I was frustrated on (I did not ever raise my voice, swear or insult. I expressed my frustration with a situation regarding MY own health care which apparently you are not allowed to do. I received an email from him threatening to fire me as a patient if I was not nicer to his extremely rude staff) Even still in this letter I was accepting of this but when further situations arose with the staff and him I had to address it. I explained in the letter that I was sorry for any role that I played and what a negative effect this was having on me and my mental health. Did he respond? Absolutely not.
Shortly after I sent the letter I was supposed to have an appointment but my anxiety around it got so bad that I called to cancel it WITHIN the allowable 24 hour time frame.
A couple of months later, I was feeling better and decided to be strong and reschedule the appointment, which I did. 5 months had passed since my cancelled appointment and I was feeling ready. This second time however I had to cancel for other reasons, again within the allowable 24 hour time frame. I had an emergency with my foster dog the previous week and she had to be rushed to the hospital due to congestive heart failure. This unfortunately caused me to have to take some time away from work and so I was unable to also get away for my own doctor’s appointment. I was pleasant with the staff and we rebooked for the next month while on the call. Well apparently if you cancel 2 appointments 5 months apart within the allowable 24 hour window you get punished as I received a call later that same day explaining that the doctor was canceling my rebooked appointment and I was on a 3 month ban from booking appointments due to my cancelled appointments!!!! I explained that I had an emergency and was met with a snarky “you had an emergency??” mocking response from his staff. I put the call on speaker phone with a witness in the room and asked for clarification “I am being banned for 3 months because I cancelled 2 appointments within the allowable 24 hour time frame that were 5 months apart” the staff member told me YES!
I am done. I can’t continue to go through this and no one should. They are abusive bullies and even giving a zero star review would be too generous.
I would actually rather go into withdrawal from my prescription and not have a doctor than ever step foot into this clinic again which is sad as I have such fond memories of my previous doctor there.
As much as I wanted to write a review based on how terrible all of my experiences with Dr. Doiron and his staff have been, I held off as I was trying to be civil and attempting to repair the relationship. Not anymore, I have fired him now and everyone deserves to know what an absolute joke of a doctor he is. Good riddance.
